You might also be sensitive to lights and sounds and feel nauseated. Some people get these miserable headaches regularly, and they can ruin the whole day. Drink plenty of water! Drink more water than you think you need. When you drink more water, you feel better all over. WebMD states:

“Don't go more than two hours without a glass of water. Water is important for your overall health, but it's especially important if you get migraine headaches. In one study, when people who get them added about 6 cups (1.5 liters) of water to their usual amount, they said they got fewer headaches. They also said they had less pain when they did get headaches.”

So, make a conscious effort to drink more water. We suggest keeping a journal. Write down how often you drink water and include how much. Keep a record of other drinks and the food you eat, too. This way, if you start getting migraines regularly after consuming a certain food or beverage, you can try cutting back or even eliminating it from your diet. Trial and error will be crucial. The most important thing is to pay attention to your body, and don’t ignore the messages it sends.

Make sure you don’t skip meals. In a work week, finding time to stop can be tough. Your body needs fuel to keep going, though. Missing out on nutrients throughout the day can be a trigger for migraines. If you end up getting a migraine, you’ll be forced to stop anyway. So, you might as well give yourself a few well-deserved breaks during the day to eat.

Be careful with caffeine. Consuming too much caffeine at once can cause migraines. However, if you regularly (especially daily) have some form of caffeine, cutting it out can also trigger migraines. Think about have a little less. For example, if you typically enjoy 6 cups of coffee each day, try cutting back to 3 cups. Spread them out throughout the day, too. That could help ween you off caffeine some without eliminating it from your diet.
