Pets & Compounding Medicine

       Pets, much like that of young children, can sometimes cause a fit when it's time for them to take their necessary medication. Animals are notorious for being extremely difficult to treat with medications. Cats are especially deceptive as they will refuse to swallow a pill as well as eat right around one if it's disguised in food. While not nearly as sneaky as cats, dogs have their complications as well. Dosages for certain breeds and sizes of dogs varies so an antibiotic that works for a 90-pound great  Dane won't work on a little chihuahua. This is where pharmacy compounding comes in handy.     Compounding is the art and science of preparing customized compound medications for pets. It has seen a growth in popularity in recent years due to it's valuable benefits to today's pet owners. Veterinarians have also started recommending it to clients. Pharmacists and veterinarians work closely together to solve a pets health problems and provide them with the best
